AN EVALUATION OF THE COURSEBOOK LE NOUVEAU TAXI 1 FOR NON-FRENCH MAJOR CLASSES

Texbook/Coursebook evaluation is really necessary to have reasonable adjustments or changes to the coursebook because “No course book designed for a general market will be absolutely ideal for a particular group of learners” (Cunningsworth, 1995). The article presents the results of the evaluation of the coursebook Le Nouveau Taxi 1 for students studying foreign languages at levels A1, A2 and B1 at University of Foreign Languages, Hue University through an investigation with the participation of 10 lecturers and 80 second-year students. Based on the evaluation questionnaires as suggested by Cunningsworth (1995), the article has analyzed and summarized the strengths and weaknesses of the Le Nouveau Taxi 1. Some suggestions have been made in an attempt to improve the effectiveness of foreign language teaching and learning.
