RESEARCH AND COMPILING ENGLISH TERMINOLY DATA FOR INTERMEDIA ARTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ARTS, HUE UNIVERSITY

Abstract

English-Vietnamese terminology dictionaries in general and English- Vietnamese terminology data in particular are a means of reference that helps users not only know the meaning of new terminologies but also understand their concepts, definitions or explainations. To compile effective terminology data requires the compiler to understand the needs of the users from which to find out compilation principles and methods. This article presents the results of a survey towards the lecturers and students on the needs of using English terminology of Intermedia Arts in teaching - learning, research and creating artworks. The article also shows the methods and procedures for compiling the English terminology of Intermedia Arts serving the training and learning needs of faculty and students in Intermedia Arts at the University of Arts, Hue University.
