AN ANALYSIS OF KOREAN-MAJOR STUDENTS’ ERRORS IN THE USE OF ADNOMINAL SUFFIXES

The article focuses on surveying the use of adnominal suffixes by students majoring in Korean Language and Culture. Through collecting writings, statistical analysis, processing, and data analysis, the study has identified common errors that students encounter when using the adnominal suffixes ‘- (으)ㄴ’, ‘-는’, and ‘-(으)ㄹ’. The article highlights that errors related to the adnominal suffixes ‘- (으)ㄴ’ are twice as frequent as those related to the adnominal suffixes ‘-는’ and ‘-(으)ㄹ’, with substitution errors being the most common. Based on the survey results, the article provides important implications for teaching and learning adnominal suffixes.
