Abstract

The article presents the results obtained from the application of Audacity software in designing teaching activities aiming at enhancing listening and speaking skills for level B1 non-English major students of basic English program at Hue University of Foreign Languages. After the implementation process finished, 100 survey questionnaires were sent to the students participating in the study and 3 interviews with lecturers were conducted. The results showed that most students and lecturers thought Audacity software and the suitable practice activities were very useful in developing students’ listening and speaking skills. Additionally, the authors discussed solutions to improve the effectiveness of applying Audacity in the process of strengthening students’ English listening and speaking skills.
